Pride News

Welcome to Our latest Pride 2024 Update!

As the excitement builds for the upcoming Summer Pride in Blackpool, Wyre, and Fylde, we’re thrilled to share some behind-the-scenes updates and highlights of what’s been happening in preparation for this fantastic event.

Behind the Scenes: Ensuring a Safe and Spectacular Event

In our ongoing efforts to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all attendees, we’ve been actively engaged in meetings with various stakeholders, including the Blackpool Police, to coordinate logistics for the parade and main event on Princess Parade.

Headline Act Announcement: Natasha Hamilton

We are thrilled to have secured our Headline act ‘Natasha Hamiliton’ who is releasing exciting new music next month which we will have the pleasure of hearing at Pride as well as classic tunes from her time with the chart-topping band Atomic Kitten.

Sponsorship and Business Engagement

Our commitment to creating an inclusive and vibrant Pride experience wouldn’t be possible without the support of our sponsors and local businesses. We recently had the privilege of presenting our progress and vision to over 100 business leaders at The Blackpool Business Leaders Group, showcasing the vital role they play in making Pride a success.

Ticket Information

Tickets for Pride 2024 are selling fast! Secure yours today from Gigantic or grab a wristband from your favourite LGBTQ+ venues in the area. Currently we have stock in Garlands, Mamma L’s, Peek a Booze, Rendezvous Bar and Rooms, Sherlocks and The Flying Handbag.

Bar Prices and Accessibility

To ensure a fair and enjoyable experience for all, we’ve worked with LGBTQ+ venues to establish set prices for drinks at the event. While prices may be slightly higher than usual due to the nature of running a festival bar, we’re committed to providing a varied selection of beverages to cater to everyone’s preferences.

All bars have agreed a set price for their drinks. The draft prices range between £4:50 standard drinks and £5:50 for premium. Spirits will be £5 for a single including a mixer and £7 for a double with a mixer.

Youth Pride: Empowering the Next Generation

United Youth Alliance recently hosted a positive and productive meeting to plan Youth Pride activities. With the support of organisations like Street Games, Scouts, and The Magic Club, the Youth Pride area will offer a welcoming space for young people, and will also include a neurodiversity area for those needing to take time out from the sometimes overwhelming atmosphere. We encourage interested individuals to get involved by contacting admin@uyacic.org.

Community Support and Fundraisers

We’re incredibly grateful for the ongoing support of our venues. A huge thank you to Sherlocks, Garlands, and The Royal British Legion, whose fundraising efforts have raised over £3000 for Blackpool Pride in the last 2 weeks. These contributions go a long way in ensuring that we can host an outdoor event that everyone can be proud of. Coming up this weekend the fundraisers continue at Rendezvous Bars and Rooms for the fabulous B B Brookes Birthday Bash and also at the Number 3 with Bop the Bingo.
