Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde Pride Festival Update

With just over three weeks to go until the Official Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde Pride Festival, we want to update you on what’s been happening behind the scenes and address some misinformation on social media.

Health and Safety / Security and Stewards

Health and safety are our top priorities, which is why we’re partnering with a specialist event company to manage the site, health and safety, security, first aid, and more for our two-day event. We’re proud to have one of the UK’s top event security teams ensuring everyone’s safety. All security personnel are highly skilled professionals, not volunteers.

Youth Pride

We are thrilled to offer ‘Youth Pride’ as part of the festival. Our Youth Pride lead is a safeguarding specialist, and we have all the necessary measures in place to ensure safety. All volunteers are DBS-checked, and strict safeguarding procedures are followed. Youth Pride has its own entrance, different wristbands, and children under 17 must be accompanied by an adult in the main arena. Thanks to our sponsors, 100 young people and their families can attend Youth Pride for free.

Bar Prices

You won’t be ripped off! Our favourite bars and official partner venues for 2024 are ready to take care of you over the weekend. Bar price announcements are coming soon, ensuring you can enjoy the event without breaking the bank.

Fundraising

A massive thank you to DJ Flick, The Station Pub team, Mikeala and the Victoria team, Jaide at Peek a Booze, and Mecca Bingo for their fundraising efforts. It costs over £82,000 to host the main stage event, so every little bit helps. Look out for our fundraisers this weekend at The Townsman, Sherlocks, and The Flying Handbag.

Volunteers

Our event relies on volunteers to run smoothly. They assist by being runners, selling merchandise, fundraising, and helping to keep the event litter-free. We couldn’t do it without them!
